From half-day nearshore rockfish runs to full-day tuna trips 50 miles offshore, Good Time Charlie Sportfishing delivers year-round guided fishing adventures off the Oregon Coast.
Good Time Charlie Sportfishing operates out of Newport, Oregon, offering guided fishing charters targeting Lingcod/Rockfish, Halibut, Albacore Tuna, Salmon, and Crab. Half-day Lingcod/Rockfish trips run year-round as weather permits and keep anglers close to shore, while full-day (8-hour) trips venture 15–20 miles from harbor into lower-pressure waters with larger fish and greater rockfish variety. The boat accommodates up to six anglers on most trips, with halibut trips limited to four for a more attentive fishing experience. Halibut trips are full-day affairs travelling 15–40 miles offshore, fishing tight to the bottom in 300+ feet of water with custom electric reels. Salmon trips target coho and chinook offshore, with trolling runs up to 15 miles from port beginning around Independence Day weekend. Albacore tuna trips push even further — up to 50 miles offshore — chasing warm-water current breaks in late summer and fall. Crabbing can be added to Lingcod/Rockfish trips for an additional $35 per person. The operation is well-suited for families, birthday parties, bachelor parties, and groups seeking Oregon Coast fishing getaways. Guests frequently encounter gray whales, sea lions, porpoises, dolphins, humpback whales, orca, and sunfish alongside the fishing action.
