From a volunteer recovery team to a fully licensed dive shop, Dive Tennessee brings professional SDI training and top equipment brands to East Tennessee.

Dive Tennessee is a scuba shop and training center based in Rocky Top, Tennessee, operating out of leased retail space at the Medford Volunteer Fire Department on Lake City Highway. Originally founded in 2018 as East Tennessee Diving and Recovery — a civilian volunteer recovery team serving the Knoxville area — the organization evolved into East Tennessee Diving and Exploration before formally rebranding as Dive Tennessee in 2026, when its owner/founder began teaching scuba courses. The shop teaches a full range of SDI recreational scuba courses, from the entry-level Scuba Discovery (Try Scuba) experience through Open Water Diver, Advanced Buoyancy, Boat Diver, Night/Limited Viz, Drysuit, and Full Facemask courses. Dive Tennessee also delivers ERDI Public Safety Diving instruction covering Dive Tender, Emergency Response Diver levels 1 and 2, ERD Supervisor, Full Face Mask, and Drysuit specialties. Beyond training, the shop carries equipment from Zeagle, Hollis, Oceanic, Atomic Aquatics, Deep6, HOG Scuba, and Bare, and provides professional underwater services including cell phone and glasses recovery, small craft recovery, basic dock repair, vehicle recovery, and underwater human remains recoveries.
