Channel Islands Sportfishing

Only 11 miles from Anacapa Island, Channel Islands Harbor puts you at the gateway to some of Southern California's most productive fishing grounds — home to world-record Halibut, White Seabass, and a fleet of boats ready to chase them.

Channel Islands Sportfishing operates out of Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, California, just 11 miles from Anacapa Island and the gateway to the Channel Islands archipelago. The landing serves as a ticket agent for a large selection of independently owned and operated sportboats, offering daily open-party and private-charter fishing trips ranging from half-day coastal runs to multi-day offshore expeditions targeting the outer Channel Islands including Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, Santa Barbara, and San Nicolas Islands, as well as coastal waters stretching from Santa Barbara down to Malibu. The fleet covers a wide range of trip formats: half-day, three-quarter day, full day, overnight, 1.5-day, two-day, and three-day fishing trips, with boats ranging from intimate 6-passenger light-load vessels to 50-passenger open-party sportboats equipped with full galleys and bunks. Target species include world-record California Halibut, White Seabass, Sheephead, Barracuda, Yellowtail, Rockfish, Lingcod, Salmon, Calico Bass, and Sand Bass, with warm-water conditions occasionally producing Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Marlin. From January through April, Channel Islands Sportfishing also runs daily whale watching trips into the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary, where Gray Whales, Humpback Whales, Blue Whales, Orcas, Sea Lions, and multiple dolphin species can be encountered. Additional on-site conveniences include a live bait operation, a fully stocked tackle shop, and free parking, making it a full-service landing for Southern California sportfishing.
