Channel Islands Divers
The California Channel Islands and the Ventura-Santa Barbara coastline are your backyard — Channel Islands Divers is the club that helps you explore them together.
Channel Islands Divers (CID) is a non-profit recreational scuba diving club serving Ventura County, California, open to divers of all ages, experience levels, and training backgrounds. The club's mission is to provide a social setting where members can continue growing their diving skills while building lasting friendships within the local dive community. Club activities encompass a broad range of experiences: organized beach dives and boat dives along the California Channel Islands and Ventura-Santa Barbara coastline, dive travel to more distant destinations, and monthly member meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month at Black Bear Diner in Ventura. Meetings run from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, featuring a dinner/social hour followed by the club meeting and a guest speaker with multimedia presentations — with authorities on topics ranging from dive medicine to local marine ecology. The club publishes a monthly report ("Bottom Times") from its president and a regular newsletter, keeping members current on upcoming trips, events, and dive conditions in their home waters — among the most biodiverse kelp-forest and rocky-reef environments on the US West Coast.
