Carey Dive Center is a dive shop located in downtown Isla Mujeres that runs daily boat trips to the reefs and wrecks surrounding the island. The operator uses two small boats (a 26ft Cat 1 and a 28ft Liliana) with a maximum of eight divers per vessel, ensuring space for safe and fast excursions. The dive sites range from shallow coral reefs like Atlantis and Manchones to deep wrecks such as the Gunboat C-58 at 30 meters. Divers can explore drift dives at Punta Sur or Bandera, where they might encounter dolphins, giant sea turtles, reef sharks, and barracuda. The water temperature remains warm year-round between 29°C and 30°C (76°F in winter), requiring only a short 3mm wetsuit. Beyond standard scuba diving, the center offers snorkeling trips to colorful reefs and the MUSA underwater museum, as well as seasonal whale shark tours. The shop is equipped with its own compressor for tank filling and provides gear storage facilities.
