Bubbles or Not Diving is situated in the heart of historic downtown Harlem, Georgia, founded by U.S. Army Veteran Bob Bennett and his wife Rose, who together built a family-oriented shop rooted in 25 years of diving experience. After Bob's passing, Rose carried on his legacy, growing the operation into a full-service dive community where beginners and seasoned divers alike can find training, gear, and adventure. The shop is staffed by PADI-certified Instructors and Divemasters who pride themselves on personalized, hands-on service. On the training side, Bubbles or Not runs PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, and Rescue Diver courses at destinations including Blue Grotto (FL) and Lake Jocassee (SC), along with an extensive catalog of specialty courses spanning drift diving, wreck diving, cavern diving, night diving, underwater photography, and more — all the way through Divemaster and Instructor development. The shop also offers a comprehensive gear department with sales, rentals (from scuba cylinders to dive weights), and full-service equipment repair and maintenance. For adventurous divers, Bubbles or Not organizes a calendar of local, national, and international trips. Local highlights include a 30-minute tank dive with whale sharks at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, while national outings head to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. International packages for 2026 include a Costa Rica beach-and-volcano retreat (July), a luxury liveaboard-style resort trip to Puerto Galera in the Philippines (September), and a shore-and-boat diving week at Buddy Dive Resort in Bonaire (November).
