Big Kahuna Scuba
Dive into scuba with a personal touch — Big Kahuna Scuba's all-inclusive, semi-private classes keep groups to four students or fewer, building your confidence step by step from the pool to open water in Florida or Alabama.
Big Kahuna Scuba is a solo-instructor scuba training operation based in Buford, Georgia, run by owner and NAUI Instructor Brian Silva (NAUI #62817). Operating out of his private pool at 2595 Ivy Stone Trail, Brian offers a highly personalized approach to scuba education — classes are always semi-private with no more than four students, and all equipment including mask, fins, and snorkel is provided as part of the all-inclusive pricing. The standard NAUI Open Water Certification course can be completed in as little as one week, combining online e-learning with two to three pool sessions and then a travel component to Florida or Alabama for four open water dives. The same semi-private, all-inclusive format is applied to Junior Open Water courses for students aged 10 and up. Big Kahuna Scuba also offers a two-hour Scuba Refresher for certified divers returning to the water after an extended break, and a four-hour Try Scuba experience for those curious about the sport without committing to a full certification. In addition to scuba training, Big Kahuna Scuba now offers DAN First Aid courses, including Basic Life Support (CPR/AED/First Aid) and Diving First Aid for Professional Divers, extending the school's safety-focused mission beyond the water.
