Athens Scuba Park is a family-owned inland dive park located at 500 N Murchison St in Athens, Texas, operating as an official SSI Training Center since 1987. The park offers shore diving in water with 8–10 feet of visibility and temperatures around 80°F at depth, making it accessible for divers of varying skill levels throughout the season. The facility goes well beyond diving, functioning as a full-service outdoor destination. Divers can rent individual pieces of gear or a full scuba package (BC, regulator, tank, and weights) on-site, and a comprehensive rental inventory includes wetsuits, snorkel sets, and neoprene accessories. On-site camping (tent and RV hookups with basic or premium electric/water/sewer connections) lets weekend divers extend their stay, and a 2026 season pass provides unlimited diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and camping for the full year. All divers must present a valid certification card from a recognized agency (PADI, SSI, NAUI, SDI, etc.) and sign a liability waiver before entering the water. Solo diving is permitted for those who hold a Solo Diver or Self-Reliant Diver certification and carry the required redundant gear. The park is also pet-friendly, welcoming leashed pets on the property.
