Always-a-Catch Fishing Trips operates private inshore fishing charters from South Padre Island, Texas, running trips into the Lower Laguna Madre Bay aboard Captain Dave Edwards' 21-foot Attack A Flat shallow-water boat powered by a 175 HP Yamaha. The boat accommodates up to four anglers and is suited for targeting speckled trout, redfish, snook, and black drum using artificial, live, or dead baits on light spinning tackle. During summer months, Captain Dave also ventures nearshore into the Gulf for kingfish, jacks, bull reds, Spanish mackerel, and more. Captain Dave brings over 30 years of South Texas fishing experience to every charter, offering a personalized and private experience tailored to the group — whether beginners, families with children, seasoned pros, or group outings. All trips include rods and reels (spinning tackle), lures, tackle, cut bait, some live bait, water, and life vests. Croaker is available as an additional option from May through October. Beyond day trips, Always-a-Catch also offers a "Fish & Sleep" package that combines a half-day private charter with a two-night stay in one of two oceanfront condominiums that each sleep five, allowing guests to pair guided fishing with beachfront accommodations steps from the Gulf of Mexico.
